Hello, 

My name is Mark Himes. I currently live in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA, at the base of Pikes Peak mountain. The view is absolutely gorgeous and I really couldn’t think of ever leaving this area. I’ve been here now for about 22 years.

If you ever have questions about this area, don’t hesitate to ask me.

When I came here, I was working for Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC). The company paid my expenses to get here and here I will stay.

 

I worked for DEC for 26 years. During my last 3 years there, Compaq

bought DEC and then did a lot of cutting, hacking and downsizing to keep

just the parts of DEC it actually wanted. After 3 years of that, I was

downsized out.

I then went to work for Intel semiconductor manufacturing here in the

Springs. I learned to maintain many of the high-tech machines that make

semiconductors. Learned a lot about how it all gets made. That lasted

for about 5 years and I am now in retirement due to medical conditions.

During my “employment” years, I learned a LOT about computers; installing

and fixing mainframe systems, midi-size systems, building and repairing

PC’s, ’some’ programming’ (now obsolete) and much more. I also learned a

REAL LOT about Customer Satisfaction. Actually took a 4-day advanced

course called Customer Satisfaction Engineering.

I did a lot of maintenance engineering for DEC here in the Springs

with disk drives. That was back when 300 megabyte drives were the size

of dish washers. I also taught advanced troubleshooting courses for

the specific disk architectures that DEC used in its disk clusters, and

a little about Raid.

I currently run my main PC at home using Raid 1 striping on WinXp,

using 2 very fast Seagate Raptors. So my system runs fairly fast. But

when you go onto the Internet at 3Mbps, you are STILL at the mercy of

the web site server capability and some sites are either way too big,

or just don’t have the bandwidth.

After I went on retirement disability, I decided that getting into

Internet business at home was an intriguing idea, and here I am.

I plan to learn a lot as I go and I have a LOT of SOLUTION IDEAS

that I will add as I build my business. My goal is to provide many

QUALITY solutions that meet Customer Needs and Satisfaction !

One final note:  The picture of my wife (Mary) and me you saw here

took place during our honeymoon. We just HAD to announce to the world

how we felt !! Without Mary, much of what I do, like to do and can do;

is due to her support in everything I do.

So that’s a bit about me. I will revise this over time and hopefully

using feedback from my online business partners, peers and friends.
